Veer Savarkar was born on May 28, 1883 in Bhagpur village of Nashik and died on February 26, 1966 in Bombay (now Mumbai). He was a freedom fighter, politician, lawyer, social reformer and founder of the philosophy of Hindutva. Recently the trailer of a film based on Savarkar has been launched.
His father’s name was Damodarpant Savarkar and mother Radhabai. He lost his parents at an early age. He was greatly influenced by his elder brother Ganesh (Babarao).
