He was over fifty years old. Even then he was stronger and more robust than the youth. His skin was free from wrinkles. He enjoyed walking around naked in the rain, in the shade of the Poos nights and in the scorching sun of the month of Jyeshtha.
In the literary journey of Hindi story, ‘Usne Kaha Tha’ is considered the first modern story. Guleri wrote this story based on realism in the 1920s which was polished by Premchand. The main reason for the popularity of Chandradhar Sharma ‘Guleri’ is this story of his, but apart from stories, he also wrote in the undeveloped genres of that time like essays, criticism-reviews, discussions and research.
Birth: Born on January 17, 1923 in Agra. Original name T.N.V. Acharya (Tirumallai Nambakam Veer Raghava Acharya). South Indian by family. Ancestors were residents of Vaira (Bharatpur) for two and a half centuries and Jagirdars of Vaira, Baroni villages. Home language was Braj and Tamil. Education: In Agra. Post graduation from St. John’s College in 1944 and Ph.D. on Guru Gorakhnath from Agra University in 1948. He had exceptional command over Hindi, English, Braj and Sanskrit.
