Ek Sahityik Ki Dairy And Devrani Jethani Ki Kahani Gajanan Madhav Muktobodh & Pandit Gauridutt

249.00

The manuscript of the first edition of ‘A Literary Ki Diary’ was submitted by Muktibodh ji in Bhopal in March 1964 and it was published in the form he wanted. The installments titled ‘Kutyuyan’ and ‘Poetic Truth’ and ‘The Personal Honesty of the Artist’ were not in that manuscript and consequently they are not in the first edition.

Pandit Gauridatta (1836 – 8 February 1906) was the first propagator and ardent devotee of Devnagri. Apart from teaching Nagari script to children, he used to roam from street to street and inspire people to use Hindi and Devnagri script instead of Urdu, Persian and English. After some time, he also established ‘Nagari Pracharini Sabha’ in Meerut and in 1894, on its behalf, he submitted a memorandum to the government to the effect that Nagari script should be given a place in the courts. The remarkable work done by Pandit Gauridatta in the development of Hindi language and literature shows his dedication and efficiency. Nagari Lipi Parishad has started ‘Gauridatta Nagari Seva Samman’ in his name in his honour.
