“VINOBA BHAVE” was born on 11 September 1895 in a small village called Gagoji (present-day Gagode Budruk) in Kolaba in the Konkan region of what is now Maharashtra. Vinayaka was the eldest son of Narahar Shambhu Rao and Rukmani Devi. The couple had five children; four sons named Vinayaka (affectionately called Vinya), Balakrishna, Shivaji and Dattatreya, and one daughter Shanti.

 

Bal Gangadhar Tilak ( 23 July 1856 – 1 August 1920), endeared as Lokmanya, was an Indian nationalist, teacher, and an independence activist. He was one third of the Lal Bal Pal triumvirate. The British colonial authorities called him “The father of the Indian unrest”. He was also conferred with the title of “Lokmanya”, which means “accepted by the people as their leader”.Mahatma Gandhi called him “The Maker of Modern India”.
